The Thirsties Duo nappy system is easy to use, cost effective and quick to dry.   You are ordering the inserts only and will need to order a Thirsties Duo wrap separately   The inserts come in three different material combinations and 2 sizes, the sizes correspond with the Thirsties Duo Wrap however they can be used with other wraps and work well with the Thirsties nappy cover too.

 

The Natural Duo insert set consists of 2 inserts, snapped together – £7.95

Insert 1 – constructed of 3 layers of organic cotton

Insert 2 – constructed of 5 layers of super-absorbent 55% hemp, 45% organic cotton jersey

 

The Stay Dry Duo insert set also consists of 2 inserts snapped together – £6.95

Insert 1 – constructed of 2 layers of fast-absorbing microfibre terry, topped with a stay-dry microfleece

Insert 2 – constructed of 5 layers of super-absorbent 55% hemp, 45% organic cotton jersey

 

The Stay Dry Natural Duo insert set also consists of 2 inserts snapped together – £8.45

This nappy system is known as the ‘all in two’.  Simply lay the insert inside your Thirsties Duo Wrap, fasten around your baby and go!

In my opinion – Thirsties are a one of the best selling nappy brands in the USA for good reason as their products are made to a very high standard.   You are purchasing here the insert only and this insert

This ‘all in 2’ method may look a bit fiddly but  is actually a very simple and effective nappy system.  It gives a slim fit whilst still being quite absorbent.   The insert just lays inside the duo wrap and will stay in place once done up    It looks very similar and works in exactly the same way.  It fits well from 10lbs / 4.5kg upwards and just like bumgenius it is made to a high standard and works extremely well.  It is also costs a little less.  

My tips – Use a small bamboo booster under the inner pads to increase the absorbency.  

Washing and Care – Please read carefully our full ‘washing and care instructions’.  All nappies and wraps must be washed according to our care instructions otherwise the manufacturers guarantee will not be valid.  All new nappies must be washed before they are used.  Please note that when buying a large number of cloth nappies you should just wash a few in the first instance, and check you are happy with your choice, as I cannot refund on used or washed nappies. This nappy can be tumble dried on a low heat, however it is advisable to only tumble dry occasionally as it does shorten the life of the nappy and of course cost you more.   

THIRSTIES WASHING GUIDELINES

– Before use: Wash 1-3 times using a cloth diaper safe detergent. At every wash cycle:

-Prewash on warm

-Wash on hot (up to 60 degrees no hotter)

-Add another rinse on warm.

-Hang dry or dry in the dryer on low. Turning the diapers inside out may speed dry times. If the diapers are stiff after line drying, you can throw them in the dryer on low heat with some wool dryer balls to soften them.

Important notes:

– Use enough water to soak and cover the diapering items and allow them to agitate.

– Please avoid the following:

Laundry boosters/additives

High heat in the dryer

Pure Soap

Bleach

These practices and/or additives can void the warranty on your Thirsties products.

*A 15 minute cycle on hot in the dryer once a month is beneficial to lamination, and will not void your warranty.
