This nappy is designed to be used just like a disposable nappy, and just like the popular Bumgenius Elemental,  it has no separate pieces so no stuffing or unstuffing pockets or poppering other bits into or onto the nappy.   Thirsties offers absorbency, organic material next to babies skin, waterproof protection, and adjustability all rolled up into a stylish, comfortable and extremely effective cloth nappy and at a slightly lower price than the Bumgenius.

This nappy includes 11 thirsty layers of natural fibers: 3 layers of organic cotton in the body and 2 soaker pads with 8 layers of the same hemp/organic cotton used in the inserts and prefolds Thirsties customers have grown to know and love. Whether parents are first-timers at cloth diapering or old pros, this Natural option offers convenience, gentle elastic, a trim fit and incredible absorbency all with a simple one-and-done step.

In my opinion –  This is becoming a popular alternative to the hard to get Bumgenius Elemental nappy.  It looks very similar and works in exactly the same way.  It fits well from 10lbs / 4.5kg upwards and just like bumgenius it is made to a high standard and works extremely well.  It is also costs a little less.

Washing and Care – Please read carefully our full ‘washing and care instructions’.  All nappies and wraps must be washed according to our care instructions otherwise the manufacturers guarantee will not be valid.  All new nappies must be washed before they are used.  Please note that when buying a large number of cloth nappies you should just wash a few in the first instance, and check you are happy with your choice, as I cannot refund on used or washed nappies. This nappy can be tumble dried on a low heat, however it is advisable to only tumble dry occasionally as it does shorten the life of the nappy and of course cost you more.   

THIRSTIES WASHING GUIDELINES

– Before use: Wash 1-3 times using a cloth diaper safe detergent. At every wash cycle:

-Prewash on warm

-Wash on hot (up to 60 degrees no hotter)

-Add another rinse on warm.

-Hang dry or dry in the dryer on low. Turning the diapers inside out may speed dry times. If the diapers are stiff after line drying, you can throw them in the dryer on low heat with some wool dryer balls to soften them.

Important notes:

– Use enough water to soak and cover the diapering items and allow them to agitate.

– Please avoid the following:

Laundry boosters/additives

High heat in the dryer

Pure Soap

Bleach

These practices and/or additives can void the warranty on your Thirsties products.

*A 15 minute cycle on hot in the dryer once a month is beneficial to lamination, and will not void your warranty.
