RNFL £50 Kit – Bexley Council are part of Real Nappies for London

If you live in the borough and are pregnant or have a baby under 18 months old you can claim a £50 voucher to spend on washable nappies.  Visit the Real Nappies For London site to apply.  When using your RNfL Bexley £50 voucher against one of the kits below just add the kit to your shopping basket and as long as you have been issued a voucher and the name,  delivery or billing address are the same as on the voucher, that is all you need to do, you will not be charged for the kit.   You can use your voucher against any washable nappies on my site and do not have to buy one of these kits.  These kits are designed to give you a good mix of brands and styles and are useful if you are new to washable nappies and confused by all the options and jargon !   I also run regular demo’s in Bexley at St Augustines and Dansons Children’s Centres,  see my nappy demo dates for full details, you can bring along your voucher and spend it at one of these demo’s. – although at the moment due to the coronavirus these demos are not happening, we are however going to try and run some on ZOOM at the same time, so please contact me if you would like to join one of these.

Each kit includes a bamboo booster – use the booster with any of the nappies to help increase the absorbency.  A fleece liner and some sample paper liners are also included too – liners help when dealing with poo and it’s a personal choice whether to use them or not; the fleece liner can also be used as a ‘stay-dry liner‘ with with any of the nappies that have natural material next to the baby’s bottom as these tend to get quite wet next to your baby’s skin.

KIT 1 – EASY PEESY – ONE SIZE

(birth 2 potty – 9lbs – 35lbs/ 4kg – 15.9kg)

A simple trial kit that will suit any baby over 9lbs and any parent wanting to have an easy introduction to cloth nappies.  This kit is a mix of brands but all nappies mimic disposable nappies in that they go on in one piece and are washed as one piece.  These are all day-time nappies and will generally not last a night on an older child.  Use the fleece liner if you want to keep the Easyfit drier next to your child’s skin.   The bamboo booster will fit in the pocket of either the easyfit or the bambino mio and make a big difference to how absorbent the nappy is.

KIT 2 – TRY THEM ALL – ONE SIZE

(birth 2 potty – 9lbs – 35lbs/ 4kg – 15.9kg)

This kit has a mix of brands and styles ie ‘2-part shaped’ ‘all-in-one’ and ‘ all-in-two‘ and is ideal if you want to see what the difference is between the main cloth nappy options.  The Totsbots Bamboozle used with the Flip wrap is a good night-time nappy and the Flip wrap with the stay dry insert or the Bumgenius Freetime are good day-time nappies.  Use the  extra booster to increase the absorbency of the Freetime but placing it under the internal pads

KIT 3 – NEWBORN TRY THEM ALL

(small size only 6 – 12lbs/2.7kg – 5.5kg- * fit until 18lbs/8.2kg)

This is a kit for use from birth and will fit for 3 – 6 months.  A mix of easy-to-use nappies including 2  ‘two-part shaped’ nappies which are excellent for containing newborn runny poo (Sandys and Bamboozle) and the Bumgenius Littles V2 which is resembles a tiny disposable nappy – an ideal introduction to washable nappies if you want to try from birth.  Buying lots of tiny newborn nappies is not a cost-effective option in the long run, as they are outgrown quickly,  but having a few that fit your baby perfectly and are not bulky can be a great introduction.

KIT 4 – NEWBORN 2 PART & FLAT 

(small size only 6 – 18lbs/2.7kg – 8.2kg) (*only  fits until 12lbs/5.5kg

Flat nappies if used with a nippa and Motherease airflow wrap are excellent at containing newborn runny poo; they are also a very cost effective option and can be used throughout your baby’s time in nappies.  This kit contains 4 flat nappies (4 x prefolds and 2 x terry’s) and 1 shaped little lamb bamboo nappy with two different brands of outer PUL wraps.  All nappies are used with a seperate outer wrap, the airflow or the peenut.   This is a great option from birth and will last much longer than the nappies in Kit 3 – a bit more fiddly to use but you will not be dissapointed.  See here for folds

Kit 5  – ORGANIC TRY THEM ALL – ONE SIZE

(birth 2 potty – 9lbs – 35lbs/ 4kg – 15.9kg)

If you are looking for natural organic nappies at least next to your little one’s skin then this kit is ideal. A mix of brands and styles, use the bamboozle with the Flip wrap or the organic cotton prefold, the elemental is a stand alone nappy and goes on in one piece, like a disposable.  As they are made from organic cotton or bamboo they are very absorbent but will take a while to dry. I also include a fleece liner (yes this may seem counter-intuitive but these nappies can be very wet next to babies skin, at night time in particular fleece liners can be useful – if you do not want to receive the fleece liner please let me know in the comments box on the checkout page and I will switch to a washable wipe instead).
