Mother-ease Wizard Uno birth to potty cloth nappy. 

Mother-ease Wizard Uno is different from all other all in one nappies because it has double elasticized leg openings,  elastic in the nappy and elastic in the attached waterproof cover.   This means it is much less likely to leak and works in the same way as a two part nappy system in that it provides two lines of defence.  The nappy pad in the Wizard Staydry is made with their amazing staydry material exclusive to Mother-ease,  and it is very different from other staydry fabrics on the market.  It is dry to the touch even when very wet !  They use a special knit fabric that creates a stay dry barrier in the actual weave.  This allows the wetness to easily pass through but not back and therefore keeping your babies skin dry to the touch.  It also includes a cooling yarn which keeps the temperature inside the nappy lower which is always a good thing and also helps reduce the chance of bacterial growth.  Mother-ease do not use fleece in their nappies like other brands as it can have slow absorption rates which can cause leaks sometimes.

The pad itself is sewn onto the PUL outer wrap so works just like a disposable nappy.   The PUL waterproof outer has leak resistant bindings at the legs and waist which stops moisture from wicking outwards.  The waist is adjustable through a series of poppers and each nappy has an elasticated waist and back.   The waterproof cover is made of the same world class quality fabric just like the Motherease separate wraps.

Wizard Uno’s have something called ‘hygienic washability’ which basically means wash water flows through easier and water extraction through spinning is more effective.  It therefore drys as quickly.

In my opinion –  Mother-ease nappies are world class in fit and quality of design and material used.  If you are looking for an easy to use quick drying all in one nappy then you won’t go wrong with the Uno Wizard.  These are excellent day time nappies and some parents find the Wizard Uno staydry  is suitable for night time use too, particularly if you stuff an additional bamboo booster between the cover and absorbent core.  If you have a heavy wetter though I would still suggest a two part bamboo nappy with a separate outer wrap, like the bamboozle stretch, Little Lamb Bamboo or Mother-ease Sandys, with Mother-ease Airflow,Thirsties Duo or Bumgenius Flip wraps.  

My tips –  If using bamboo boosters to increase absorbency there is no need to remove them for washing as they eject out by themselves in the wash, so just chuck the whole dirty nappy into your pail. 

Washing and Care – The binding on the Motherease products are the reason they are so fabulously waterproof so it’s important to treat the binding with respect and make sure it can’t get caught on velcro etc in the wash.  Damage to the binding caused by catching on velcro is not covered by the Motherease Manufacturers Warranty.  So if you  have velcro fastenings on other nappies make sure you put the Motherease nappies into a separate mesh bag to keep them away from the velcro nappies in the washing machine.  Please read carefully our full ‘washing and care instructions’.  All nappies and wraps must be washed according to our care instructions otherwise the manufacturers guarantee will not be valid.  All new nappies must be washed before they are used.  Please note that when buying a large number of cloth nappies you should just wash a few in the first instance, and check you are happy with your choice, as I cannot refund on used or washed nappies. This nappy can be tumble dried on a low heat, however it is advisable to only tumble dry occasionally as it does shorten the life of the nappy and of course cost you more.
